UNITE 2030 is a 48-hour, global, virtual "hackathon" for the Sustainable Development Goals, powered by The IDHouse.
We have a vision to make UNITE 2030 the world's largest creator of new, innovative solutions to the world's most critical challenges. Together with the world's most passionate young people, we spend 48 hours sparking brilliant creativity, listening to inspiring speakers, working collaboratively, and and moving mountains.
At UNITE 2030, the possibilities are endless for creating opportunities for creating global change in YOUR community and the world - working to leverage the passion of young people, unleash new ideas, and inspire each other to really be the change that we wish to see in the world.
How UNITE 2030 works happens changes the world.
1. Source the most dedicated young people across the globe
We don't focus on your experience, but instead, your passion and drive to make the world the better place. We believe that's all you need to change the world. We'll take care of the rest.
2. Spend 2 days creating + Developing New solutions with a team of worldchangers
Once you register for UNITE 2030, we put you into global teams based on the social issues that you care about. You will then work with those teams to develop solutions to one challenge relating to that issue.
3. Provide Support to the best ideas for implementation
After developing your solutions, you'll compete for a chance to turn your ideas into real, tangible action. We provide you with the support you'll need to get your idea off the ground.
4. Develop a community of worldchangers
After participating in UNITE 2030, you'll gain the opportunity become a UNITE Global Ambassador, helping bring the UNITE 2030 framework to YOUR community. Join alumni, and a broader community of dedicated young people working to change the world.
Why is UNITE 2030 Virtual?
We believe that the Internet is one of the most powerful tools that brings us together. And while we LOVE face-to-face human interaction, the reality is that we live in a globalized world. It's becoming more and more essential to develop human connection that transcends face-to-face interaction.
We also believe that everyone should be able to harness the ability to change the world - not just those who can afford to hop on a plane to fly to London at a few months notice. That's why UNITE 2030 is all virtual. All you need is a computer, a good internet connection, and your drive to change the world.
One of the things that our worldchangers love the most about UNITE 2030 is that they get the opportunity to work on international teams, transcending borders to develop solutions to problems that are the responsibility of the entire world to fix.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
We use the SDGs are the defining framework for the change that we want to see in the world. They provide us with benchmarks and targets that we need to reach if we want to transform the world by the year 2030. But don't worry if you're not the Stephen Hawking of the SDGs - we'll help.
What is The International Development House (The IDHouse?)
UNITE 2030 is an event powered by The International Development House. The IDHouse equips, empowers, and inspires young people to take action on the major challenges facing our world - you know... that stuff like climate change, gender inequality, poverty, global hunger, all that fun stuff.
UNITE 2030 is The IDHouse's signature event, bridging the gap between our community and our second program, the Youth Delegate Programme.
