Launch 2030 by UNITE 2030 is an intensive 3-day virtual entrepreneurship bootcamp designed to propel early-stage social business ideas into actionable and fundable ventures. Hosted over two weekends, Launch 2030 leverages the power of collaboration, knowledge and peer review to offer a dynamic, interactive online learning environment.

Participants can join either as individuals or as teams and will have access to a range of collaborative tools, breakout sessions, and workshops. The program curriculum covers a broad spectrum of entrepreneurship essentials—from foundational business strategy to understanding and crafting viable funding models. All prepping early stage social business ideas to be ready for launch.

A chance At up to $25,000 in seed funding

the top Team at launch 2030 is automatically sent to the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge in san diego, CA.

Our 25 teams will work in a community oriented environment to craft a social business presentation based on their idea, which they will present on the last day of the program to a panel of judges. Judges will choose the top prototype ready team who will get automatic acceptance into the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge, in San Diego from May 3rd-5th, 2024, where they will pitch again for a chance to win up to $25,000 in seed funding for their venture.

Understand How to Start a Social Business

Each participant will walk away with knowledge of the concept of social entrepreneurship, and a fully completed social business model. The goal is is to move each idea from an early-stage concept to a well-thought-out model ready for implementation.

Prep for funding readiness

A key focus of the Launch is to ensure that each business idea is paired with a viable funding strategy. Participants will gain knowledge of potential funding opportunities in a global context, and different types of revenue models used across the world, along with

Launch 2030 Schedule

 
  • In our first day, participants will be welcomed into the space, and have the chance to get to know one another and their social business ideas. We will get a strong idea of social entrepreneurship in the global context, and dive into our social business model canvas, closing out the day with peer sharing and feedback.

  • Our second day dives into market research and prototyping, along with finishing the second half of our social business model canvas. We will discuss funding models, funding readiness and speak about the work required through the week to prepare for their presentation. Participants will have from the 21st to the 27th to finish their social business model canvas, and curate their presentation for the following week.

  • Participants will present their social business idea to a panel of judges, who will provide them with specific feedback on their idea, and who will choose one team to attend the Fowler Global Social Business Challenge.

 

eligibility

Here's the detailed rundown of what we're looking for:

  • Applicants must be between 18-35 years old on the first day Launch 2030, and have a high level of english proficiency.

  • Applicants should have an early stage social business idea, that focuses on a particular social or environmental issue. They should have:

    -A Well Established Problem

    -An Innovative Business Solution

    -An Idea of How to Implement It

    -A Foundational Prototype or Customer Feedback

  • Applicants business ideas should focus on at least one Sustainable Development Goal.

  • To be eligible to have the chance to be sent to the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge, yourself, or at least one member of your team must be enrolled in a university or college to participate. Participants without a currently enrolled student will still be permitted to participate in Launch 2030, but will not be eligible to be sent to the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge.
